Life's a Party! Dress Up!

Quick, you've been invited to a cocktail party. Dress code is somewhat vague and open for interpretation...Sassy Chic? What are you going to wear?

A: I have no idea
B: Not sure, but I'm sure I can find something in my closet that will work
C: I'm not going, because it's too stressful to try to think of what to wear
D: My favorite LBD, of course! (Little Black Dress)

If you answered A, B, C, OR heaven forbid D, we think you should make a beeline for VASARRI!

BUT please don't wait until the day before....or even the week before for that matter. Don't get us wrong, we enjoy a challenge, but sometimes a little advanced planning really is essential. Ahem....can you say alterations?? It's rare that a woman can walk into a store, pull a dress off the rack and waltz out the door clicking the heels of her Jimmy Choos without making some kind tweek to it. Sorry ladies. It just doesn't happen. Fashion designers make clothing for that insanely small percentage of women who happen to fit the size chart mold. I, for one, stand in utter amazement, outside the fitting room doors when a woman comes out to admire herself in the mirror and the outfit is just right...in all the right places! So anyway, back to the question at hand. What will you wear to the Sassy Chic cocktail party?

Of course you can't go wrong with the little black dress. It's classic! Famous, even! But sooooo completely over done...Come on ladies, have some courage and imagination....step out of your "black box" and add a splash of color. Don't be afraid!

We've got a few ideas for you.

Fun, flirty, and fabulous! One of our favorite designers, Carol Peretz has a unique style. Fluidity and movement, bias cutting and unusual draping are signature looks along with Swarovski crystals and vintage trimmings. This dress is a made of a simple luxurious silk, but the double silk organza flounce at the hemline of this dress makes it a show stopper. It will draw attention! Men (and envious) women will stop you to ask where you found such an incredible dress!

Want to steer clear of the typical "cocktail dress", but still look stunning and dressed for the occasion? How about gorgeous silk pants and a coordinating jacket like this Mark Heister ensemble? Mark Heister's clothing reinforces that there is glamour in our times which leaves women feeling finished, beautiful and appropriate.
These wide leg pants are, flowy and feel like butter on the skin. We think once you try them, you'll want to pick up several pair. The beauty of Mark Heister? There are close to 50 colors of silk to choose from. We've got them all here at Vasarri to see up close and personal. Let us help you create an outfit that will wear over and over!

Alright, if you must wear black....how about compromise and go with a black/white/gray print. This PLT (pretty little thing) from Lotus Grace is so right now with it's huge silk flower and one shoulder design. It's not over the top dressy, but not understated by any stretch of the imagination. It's modern, elegant, feminine, and sassy all at the same time. Not crazy about the geometric print? Not to worry, ours is in animal print which never seems to go out of style.

Not everyone is blessed with a good sense of fashion, and knowing what to wear for different occasions can be tricky. But here's a good word of advice. When dressing for any occasion, it's always far better to be overdressed than underdressed. At VASARRI we're here to help. Come by....there's always something special inside! And remember...Life's a Party! Dress Up!
